Bust: I ultimately decided to scrap this piece. I did not feel happy with how the eyes and nose were turning out, and it was also not structurally sound when I tried to hollow it out more. I did like the lips and dimples, but I would not have had use for it.
Current Artist: I felt inspired by the gingham collection from Henry Holland. I really love the gingham pattern, it reminds me of picnics. However, I wanted it to be multi-color instead of just one, so I did pink and yellow-- they felt springy and I was hoping for warm weather.
Alebrije: I love whale sharts and I think they are AWESOME!!!!!! So obviously I had to make one. This is one of my favorite projects of this year, and I thoroughly enjoyed making it and how it turned out.
Useful piece AND Wall Hanging: I was very much feeling spring at this time, and really wanted something bright and colorful. I wanted to make my mom something, and she loves house plants, so I decided to make a strawberry planter. We haven't put a plant in it yet, but the idea is that the green leaves of the plant look like the strawberry leaves coming out of the top.
Choice Project: I had looked at a lot of ceramic pendants on pinterest, like the first photo, and I wanted to make one. It was super simple to make, I used a stamp to make the indent, and then I used a knife to "drill" an even hole through it. I'm not a big fan of how the glaze turned out, I think I could've taken more time and found a better, smaller brush for better detail.
